Mobile SAMOS weather station. Semi-Automatic Meteorological Observing System (SAMOS) weather station, designed to monitor and record standard weather data both automatically and manually. This SAMOS equipment is mounted on a mobile platform. Equipment present includes a an anemometer (at top of tower, to measure wind speeds), a rain gauge (lower left), and visiometers (left of tower, to measure visibility). This SAMOS weather station is operated by the Met Office, the UK's national weather monitoring and forecasting service.
