An Ottoman/Polish karabela, 1st half of the 18th century. A single-edged blade with a double-edged point. Etched inscription cartouches on both sides of the blade (reverse side somewhat worn) for almost its entire length. Iron quillons and grip frame with riveted horn grip scales. Leather covered wooden scabbard with cut iron mountings (lower part of the leather replaced).
