The Pike Perch, commonly called Wall Eyed Pike, isgenerally regarded as the best of food fishes found in thewestern waters. Its flesh is fine grained and of sweet bones are large and it may be served in various ways withequal relish. Ordinarily the Pike Perch are found in deep cool waterand are most successfully taken in trolling early in the morn-ing or late in the afternoon or evening. Their average weightis about two and one-half pounds, though they have beencaught weighing as high as 22 pounds. The best all round bait for these fish is the frog, goldenshiner, or crawfish, though they will sometimes bite a do not respond
