Vermont Governor Phil B. Scott, The Republic of Austria Minister of Defense Klaudia Tanner and Maj. Gen. Gregory Knight Adjutant General of the Vermont National Guard met together at the State House to recognize the formal beginning of their military partnership during a signing ceremony in Montpelier, Vermont, May 11, 2022. The National Guard Bureau’s State Partnership began in 1993 and now includes over 90 countries and state National Guards. Vermont also began partnerships with North Macedonia in 1993 and Senegal in 2008.
