Panoramic view of famous Preveli palm beach at the exit of Kourtaliotis canyon, Rethymno, South Crete, Greece. The beach is beautiful, not only because of the palm trees, but also because it is the point where Kourtaliotis river meets the Libyan Sea. Very close to the beach you can find two beautiful monasteries, the Kato Preveli (old Preveli monastery) and Pano Preveli (new Preveli monastery). In order to go down to the beach, someone has to walk down a path of around 400 stairs.
