Flint carving, prehistoric reconstruction. Theories on the techniques and methods used by prehistoric peoples are developed and tested by palaeo-experimenters. Here, French palaeo-experimenter Florent Rivere is preparing a flint to be used as a stone tool. Rivere's reconstruction work is carried out at sites in the Dordogne region of France, and in the Pyrenees, where excavations have uncovered artifacts and tools used by prehistoric Stone Age cultures dating back tens of thousands of years.
