LISTERIA

Listeria is a Gram-positive germ seen in pairs or chains under the microscope that is common in veterinary medicine. In humans they can cause a disease called listeriosis, generally in older persons or subjects with a depressed immune response. Listeriosis can involve septicemia and neuromeningeal manifestations.
