Exterior of Villa Gaslini, built in the 1920' by the architect Gino Coppedè in Gothic style, Genoa, Liguria, Italy
Villa Gaslini, also called Villa Canali-Gaslini, was built between 1924 and 1925 for the Canali family by the famous architect Gino Coppedè and is a typical example of the very personal style of this architect, freely inspired by the Florentine Gothic of the fifteenth century. After being the seat of the consulate of Japan, in 1942 it was purchased by Gerolamo Gaslini (oil industrialist and founder of the renowned pediatric institute Giannina Gaslini) and is currently the seat of the medical foundation. The villa stands on a hill above the seafront in Corso Italia, near the beach of San Giuliano.
