EXTRA-UTERINE PREGNANCY SONOGRAM

Gynecological and obstetric ultrasound. Extra-uterine pregnancy. It is an abnormal pregnancy that does not develop in the uterus but, very often, in a fallopian tube. The egg implants mistakenly in a fallopian tube because its progression towards the uterus is stopped by a tubal anomaly. Those tubal anomalies can have various causes. An infection can have damaged the cilia of the fallopian tube's wall, then the egg has difficulties to move. But, intrauterine device, tobacco, And the age of the mother are also risk factors. An ultrasound enables to confirm the diagnosis. The possible complications are a rupture of the tube provocking a severe hemorrhage. The treatment is surgical, we try to preserve the tube.
