Illustration showing the dwarf planets Pluto and Charon compared on the same scale as the Earth. The most recent measurements by the New Horizons probe show that Pluto is 2370 km (1473 miles) across, or of that of the Earth. Charon measures 1208 km (751 miles), which is 51% of the diameter of Pluto and of the diameter of the Earth. This image shows the two worlds compared to North America.
