They are closely akin to thelatter, occurring in rare instances on indifferent parts of thebody, as the axilla, the abdomen, or even the thighs, where asebaceous gland has undergone a specialized development. Inthe female they are hemispherical in shape ; they are held intheir normal position upon the pectoral muscles by the super-ficial fascia, which splits into two layers, one running above,the other below, the breast.
