Although business was good last week, the supply was far in excess of the demand, with the result that grow- ers were offering special prices on quan- tities to move their stock. Some retailers dislike special sales, but there were some who were taking advantage of these special offerings, with the result that much more stock was moved, and the public was given a chance to purchase liowers at low prices. It is possible that these cut- price sales were carried to the extreme in some cases, especially with carna- tions, as they were offered as low as 75 cents a dozen.
