We have every means of economical manufacture. We have our own timber land within a mile of our factory, and make our orates in our own mill. No charge for orates. Oar pot quality is the best. Our prices are right. We will get your business if you figure with us. THE MT. GILEAD POTTERY CO., Mr. Gilead. Ohio WHte ?> now. Mention The Rerlew when yon write. KANSAS CITY. The Market. The warm, sunshiny weather from January 1 to 16 brought the cut flow- ers into bloom too fast. This city has already received its average of sun- shine for January. Business in general is irregular and it is difficult to report it exactly. On the whole, the demand has improved, but the stock is coming in too heavily, except in red flowers, of which there are not enough to fill orders. As compared with last year, the supply of pot plants has just dou- bled; this will mean low prices some- where along the line. There is a noticeable shortage in red roses and Beauties, with a heavier de- mand. The reason for the shortage is that the growers have commenced to propagate. Killarneys also are less plentiful, but sufficient to fill orders. The situation in carnations is bad, as they are coming by the thousands. Splits have no show at any price and the market does not nearly consume the receipts, an unusual condition at this time of year. Bulbous stock is plenti- ful, especially narcissi, which have been a glut in this market for the last three years. Easter lilies, sweet peas, valley and snapdragons are still abundant and only the best of them sell even at low prices. Orchids have sold for less money than ever before, as the supply is far heavier than the call. VailoiiB Notes. The trade will regret to hear that Luke A. 3aumgardner, formerly with W. J. Barnes, died at his home in St. Louis January 6. The Alpha Floral Co.
