North western corner of U shaped courtyard of Moravian Pottery and Tile Works with emphasis on north facing side of courtyard from balcony. Semi circular archways with concrete columns all along ground (first) floor cover external corridor with balcony above. Concrete roof with few chimneys and several small red tiled structures the largest being in the north eastern corner with staircase leading up from balcony. Moravian Pottery and Tile Works is a unique poured concrete building designed and built by Henry Mercer during the Art and Crafts movement. It reflects the Spanish influence on mission architecture and was completed in 1912. It produced hand made tiles and mosaics for floors, walls and ceilings. Now a National Historic Landmark it is maintained as a working "working history" museum still producing a few limited decorative ceramic tiles.
