The Flamingo was the third resort to open on the Strip and is the oldest resort still in operation today, opening December 26th 1946. Permanent shows (in 2011) included 'Donny and Marie' and comedian 'George Wallace'. Jimmy Buffet's 'Margaritaville Restaurant' opened in 2003. In late 1945 the casino had associations with mobster Bugsy Siegel, who named it after his girlfriend, nicknamed 'Flamingo' because of her long skinny kegs. The resort has 3,626 hotel rooms, 7,200 square metres casino on a 15 acres ( hectare) site. X-Burlesque, advertised here, is another show aimed at an adult male audience. Six female dancers engage the audience in a topless revue, set to music by today's hottest artists, making the show one of the most provocative on the Las Vegas Strip.
