Constant attention by day and bynight is essential to the properregulation of the temperatureof the incubator. The Prevention of Ex-haustion.—After the child isplaced in the incubator it shouldbe disturbed as little as pos-sible, as all movement, whetherpassive or active, requires onthe part of the infant more orless expenditure of vital this reason, and for theadditional reason that exposurewill rob it of body-heat, thechild should be bathed not oftenerthan once a day, and then with warm sweet oil, and this bath should be givenwith as little exposure and handling as possible. The absorbent padsarranged about the genitals shouldbe changed sufficiently often
