PACIFIC OCEAN (Oct. 25, 2016) An MH-60S Seahawk helicopter hovers alongside the amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8) while operating in the western Pacific Ocean. Makin Island, the flagship of the Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group, is deployed with the embarked 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit in support of the Navyís maritime strategy in the 3rd Fleet area of responsibility.
