The Isola San Giulio (the island of St. Julius) in the middle of the Lago d'Orta and north Italy, taken from the heights of the Sacro Monte Park above the village of Orta. It is a very beautiful place, a shrine to St. Francis of Assisi whose sayings the place records; the spirit of this freedom loving man permeates the place with its 700 year old olive trees, and the like. The island itself is a bit more grim, recording the station of the cross Jesus experienced on his way to being crucified.
