The Liberation of Bergen-belsen Concentration Camp, April 1945 The road leading to the hospital in Camp No 2, used by British ambulances evacuating inmates from the disease ridden and overcrowded Camp No 1 at Belsen. The German Wehrmacht barracks and military hospital at Hohne were commandeered to create Camp No 2. German medical staff were conscripted to care for the patients when they arrived.
