A number of fire crews from St Marys, Hightown and Redbridge are this morning tackling a fire that has broken out in a building with in the grounds of the Castle. Crews were called just after 9:30 this morning and faced with a well developed fire. Netley Abbey,Southampton, Monday 16th May 2016 A number of fire crews from St Marys, Hightown and Redbridge are this morning tackling a fire that has broken out in a building with in the grounds of the Castle. Crews were called just after 9:30 this morning and faced with a well developed fire. A Number of appliances are at the scene and are currently attempting to contain the blaze that had started in a bathroom of the grade two listed building. Due to the quick intervention by fire crews and putting out the fire damaged has been limited to a small amount of Internal damage believed to be limited to partition walls and plasterboard in the bath, as well as the roof. Fire fighters in Breathing apparatus are currently using high pressures hose reals to contain the fire. A specialist aerial ladder platform has been called in to support crews that is stationed at Basingstoke but located at Winchester whilst a new Station is built in Basingstoke. A 38 Year old male has been treated for burns to his hands by Paramedics and a Doctor. The man has since been taken away by Ambulance to hospital. @UKNIP
