A remnant from the days of railroading when a caboose was a fixture at the end of every freight train, on display in the small town of Belle Plaine, Iowa. The former Chicago & North Western Railroad caboose dates from the mid 1960s and most in the series were retired during the 1980s. Belle Plaine, once served by the C&NW is now served by the the Union Pacific Railroad who aquired the C&NW.
