In July, ISGlJ, he enlisted in Company A, (Sev-enty-fourth Indiana Volunteer Infantry, as a private, andparticipated in the battles of Chickamauga, Murfreesboro,-Mission iiidge, and other minor engagemiuls. After twoyears service he was honorably discharged on account ofdisabilitj. He sjieut four years in Warsaw, Ind., and sevenyears in Fort NVayne. ^ince 1875 he has been a residentof Elizabeth, N.
