19/03/2024 Director and co-founder of Great Northern Classics, Michael Copestake, sits on a 1970s customised Raleigh Nova bicycle with a pair of Morris Minor front wings and headlight artistically grafted to the frame. Great Northern Classics opened its doors to the public this week on Osmaston Road in Derby. The one-stop-shop heritage motoring hub has 40 vehicles on display, These include bicycles - many from Raleigh, manufactured in nearby Nottingham - cars, motorcycles and trams. A number of businesses in the classic, sports and heritage vehicle sector have also moved into workshops in the former Rolls-Royce aero engine factory. A climate-controlled storage facility for classic cars is is also situated in the 80,000 sq. ft. warehouse.
