The controversial Wind Farm at Langford, Beds, is now up and running The Co-operative Group-run 10 turbine facility is expected to generate enough electricity to power 11,400 homes in the area. This will prevent between 18,000 and 43,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide from being released into the atmosphere they say. A vigorous campaign to prevent the go ahead of the facility was run by local action groups including Friends of the Earth, but the final turbines are now in place and operational.
