Amendments to the law relating to homosexual offences Catalogue Reference: HO 291/130 In 1957 the Wolfenden Report recommended the decriminalisation of homosexuality, however it took 10 years for Leo Abse to bring the bill to the House of Commons. This eventually led to the Sexual Offences Act of 1967 which decriminalised sexual relations between men, but only in England and Wales and with an age of consent of 21. It also excluded the armed forces. lgbt, lgbthistory
