The second phase of the program is concernedwith biomechanical principles of toothmovement and correction of malaligned teethduring a one-week (20 hours) typodontcourse. The third phase consists of clinical examina-tion and history taking of a patient, followedby a one-week (20 hours) period for prepara-tion and analysis of clinical records. Moreover,diagnosis and treatment planning arediscussed during clinical conferencespresented by the students. Subsequently, thetreatment plan is discussed with the patient,appliances are constructed, and activetreatment is 34 During the fourth phase of the program,additional patients are assigned for diagnosisand treatment. Lectures are given throughoutthe 14 months, during which predoctoralstudents are taught by the Department ofOrthodontics.
