General Electric F110-400 jet engine. Illustration of the General Electric F110 two-spool after-burning turbofan engine that powers a large proportion of US military aircraft. The engine has three fan stages, nine high-pressure compressor stages and one high-pressure/two low-pressure turbine stages. The F110 delivers up to 32,000 pounds of thrust (F110-GE-132). This image corresponds to the GE F100-400 version, selected by the US Navy in 1984 to re-engine its existing Tomcat F-14A fleet.
