Heavy flooding in the village of East Lyng on 7th February 2014. Water from the rivers Parrett and Tone have burst their banks and flooded sixty five square miles of farmland including several villages. A severe flood alert remains in the area between Lyng and Burrowbridge where there is a danger to life. Water is rising rapidly in the village and has started to flood some houses.
