Near by is a small cluster of trees in the centre of a field. This marks the site of a German Reprisals Camp from 1916. A memorial plaque records the details of the appalling condition in this tiny prisoner of war camp which was deliberately located close to the front lines following a disagreement between the French and the Germans. The memorial trees and plaque were erected by German firemen as a show of reconciliation.
