Xhosa male initiation camp in a small forest area just outside the township Khayalethu South in Knysna, Garden Route Area, South Africa, in December, 2006. The young initiates, who are going through the traditional Xhosa male initiation rite, have been cricumcised and are now spending a month in seclusion in a special initiation camp. Their faces have been painted white to ward off attacks by witches.
