Allied to Pinara and Taragama. <5 Palpi obliquely porrect, thickly fringed with hair and met by the frontal tuft; antennae heavily bipectinated on basal half, serrate towards apex. Fore-wing long and narrow, the outer margin very oblique, vein 3 from before end of cell, 4 and 5 from end of cell; 6, 7, and 8 stalked; 9 and 10 also stalked. Hind-wing with the apex acute, the outer margin excised, the anal angle produced and acute ; vein 3 from before end of cell, 4 and 5 stalked, 8 bent down and touching 7, which is emitted before the end of cell; one veinlet to the costa from near the base of 8. Type (7". castanea). Genus Ticera. 1251. Ticera castanea, n. sp. <J Of a uniform dark bright chestnut red colour, palpi and frons greyish yellow, two similar coloured bands across fore-part of thorax and one in the centre, from which a similar band runs down each side of the thorax. Fore-wings with two greyish yellow, indistinct sinuous transverse bands best indicated on costa and hinder margin, the first before the middle, the second just beyond, both apparently very oblique, the first marked on the costa about the centre and the second near the apex.
