After Jason fell in love with Glauce, the daughter of Corinth's king, Medea left him with her two sons and then killed them.

In ancient Greek mythology, the Greek hero Jason sought the Golden Fleece in Colchis to bring it back to his uncle Pelias, who had usurped the throne of Ioclus from Jason's father. With the aid of Medea, the daughter of Aeetes, the king of Colchis, Jason snatched the fleece. Medea fell in love with Jason and left Colchis with him, escaping with him to Corinth in Greece. They married and had two sons. But when Jason fell in love with Glauce, the daughter of Corinth's king, Medea left with her two sons and then killed them, as portrayed in this 1882 illustration.
