(Festuca Pratensis.) A per- ennial variety, growing from three to four feet high. It roots deep, and on this ac- count resists drought better than most grasses. It suc- ceeds in any ordinary soil, and well repays the labor of deep plowing and thorough harrowing in preparing the land. It yields a heavy crop of superior hay. and is one of the best kinds for pas-^ ture. as it comes early and remains green until late. It is valuable to mix with other kinds, as it sometimes suc- ceeds where others fail. Use 20 pounds per acre when sown alone. Per lb., 35c: 100 $ ????????????? ????^^^?????????????^.
