Around the UK - Memorial Garden - A stroll around Withnell Fold Village, Chorley, Lancashire, UK

The Garden of Remembrance was constructed in what was originally a reservoir for the paper mill. As the mill became more established additional reservoirs were constructed, with this becoming disused. Remembering the fallen from WW1 & WW2 along with a special mention of Private James Miller VC. The mill & 'Model Village' was built on a Greenfield site in 1843. The developer was Thomas Blinkhorn Parke, the son of Robert Park, a local cotton mill owner. The house build for the workers all had gardens & outside toilets.
