As we came out of the thick under-ferush we were surprised to find abeautiful little rustic log cabin pic-turesquely located in ■ virgin forests,overlooking the beautiful Mapsie Riv-er, seven miles from a railroad andapparently serving no purpose exceptfor the beauty and charm with whichit inspired the lonely spot. But in thisrustic retreat away from the hauntsof man an eccentric young artist andnaturalist, namely, Milo Bennett Den-ny, fights out his problems of natureand,art all alone, painting nature aslie sees it through the eyes of a nat-uralist in a slightly impressionistictechnique, yet with meaning to everystroke of the brush and with such col-or and atmosphere as only can begrasped by constant study in the openunder all conditions. In this humble country studio has produced some landscapeswhich have brought him a reputatio
