Bir watchers look for birds at Blakeney Point in Norfolk, UK.


Edward stubbings, a national trust coastal warden and Mark Grantham (pictured), a research ecologist at the British Trust for Ornithology carry out ringing of Common Terns on Blakeney Point off the North Norfolk Coast - 9/7/09. It is the centenary of the first bird ringing in Britain. Some of the first birds were ringed at the point. The area is rich in wildlife including common terns, little terns, sandwich terns and black-headed gulls as well as seals. Jon Enoch for The Times.
