De Bleeke Dood smock mill / windmill. The oldest surviving windmill with operating platform in the Netherlands. It was used to grind flour for bread making. Zaanse Schans is a neighbourhood of Zaandam, near Zaandijk in the municipality of Zaanstad in the Netherlands, in the province of North Holland. It is thought to be the oldest industrialised region of Europe. (78)
