Both caudal and cephalic extremities present a blunt appearance; the head part is provided with six papillae; the tail of the male is provided with a caudal pouch; the male is one to one and one- fourth inches long, the female one and one-fourth to one and one-half inches. Animal Infested.—The hog. Parts Infested.—It infests the fat in the sublumbar region. Condition Produced.—Small abscesses varying in size to a pigeon's egg are found in the fat in the sublumbar region; when these abscesses are cut open the center is found to contain a small amount of purulent material and usually a male and female sometimes three or four worms; the worms rarely invade the kidney; occasionally they may be found in the pelvis of that organ.
