Karachi, Pakistan, satellite image. Karachi is Pakistan's largest city and former capital. It is in southern Pakistan on the Arabian Sea and is Pakistan's chief sea port and industrial and financial centre. The main industries in Karachi are textiles, steel, pharmaceuticals and automobiles. The railway lines (running from centre left to centre right) carry the majority of freight from Karachi to the rest of Pakistan. Taken by the Ikonos satellite on 26 September 2000.
