The entire design should beworked out in Real Scotch rope linen in pure white, not creamwhite. Work the stems with a heavy outline stitch. The star-shapedflower in lower right-hand corner should be worked in short and longstitch, heavier at the tips of petals. The vein in each petal looks bestworked with feather stitch, and a cluster of three or four French knotsshould fill the center. The two buds in opposite corners should be workedalike, i. e., short and long stitch for the outer petals, and French knotsmassed close together for the center, which is indicated by heavy shadingin the illustration.
