Fljaks (1985) recorded some brackish breeding sites () of Bufo gargarizans and Rana amurensis on the island of Sakhalin. Fljaks (1985, 1986) also reported on the mortality of the tadpoles of Rana amurensis and Rana chensinensis on this island.
