Pont de la Tournelle


The view taken in 1828, shows the Pont de la Tournelle. The original was erected by M Marie, Comptroller General of the Bridges of France. This was wooden. Even older was Pont de Fast de L’Ile Notre Dame. The present bridge is stone with six arches. Links are to Pont of St Bernard to the Island of St Louis. The image was drawn by J Nash under the direction of A Pugin and engraved by Tingle
