Apollo 15 moon rock. Alan Bean (born 1932, right), US astronaut, and Thomas Reiter (born 1958, centre), German astronaut, with a sample of moon rock. The rock, a 92 gram piece of basalt, was collected on the Apollo 15 mission by Mission Commander David Scott. Apollo 15 launched on 26 July 1971. It was the fourth mission to land on the moon. Photographed in the Gasometer, Oberhausen, Germany on 24th March 2010.
