Thetransformers will be air-cooled and will stand over a base-ment, in which all the high-tension wiring will be East Colfax Substation Den City Tramway—Exterior View. After current from the main generating station is stepped upby these transformers it will pass through motor-operatedoil switches and be distributed on three overhead feeder linesto outlying substations. The building is-of red brick with white stone trimmings, concrete floors, acorrugated iron roof on steel trusses and sheet iron windowsand doors. On one of the long sides of the building is anopening 8 feet wide fitted with a Kinnear rolling steel building is one story high with no basement.
