The introduction of the General Council Sunday-school grades into the intermediate department of theSunday-school in 1909 necessitated alterations to thebasement of the church, including the re-arrangementof seats and the building of a new and additional en-trance on the Walnut Street side, at a cost of $800,paid by the school. At a special meeting of the congregation, regularlycalled, April 8, 1907, it was resolved to revise and. NORRISTOWN CONFERENCE 151 amend the present charter and constitution of the con-gregation. The same is recorded in the minutes bothin the original and amended form. In May, 1911, complete renovation and alterationsto the main room of the church were begun. and Murphy, Philadelphia, Pa., were se-cured as architects and F. H. Keiser & Co., Potts-town, were awarded the contract. During the timeoccupied by this work, services were held regularly inthe basement. On Whitsunday, 1912, the main roomof the church was re-consecrated. The Revs. H. , , , G. F. Spieker, , and J. Fry,, , delivered sermons on this occasion. OnWhitmonday evening Rev. T. E. Schmauk. ,, president of the General Council, and mem-ber of the theological faculty at Mt. Airy, preachedthe sermon. On Tuesday evening following Rev. Snyder, president of the Norristown Conference.,preached. The approximate cost of this enterprise was $43,-000,
