Mr Ambler, however, was probably was at that time practically a rotten borough, controlled by the Travis and Ambler a member of the Houle of Burgeffes who accepted an office of profit under the government was, thougha new election had to be held, eligible to re-election, unlefs the office which he had accepted was that of fher-iff or coroner.
