Missing teeth. Coloured pan-oral X-ray of the mouth of a female, showing a gap where teeth should be in the left lower jaw (right). Fillings (solid yellow) are also seen, along with earrings (left and right). A pan-oral X-ray provides a panoramic view of all the teeth in the mouth. It is useful for finding unerupted or impacted teeth, cysts, jaw fractures, or tumours. The picture is recorded continuously on to film as the camera swings around from one side of the jaw to the other.
