Venice. Coloured radar satellite image of Venice (white, in bay), Italy, and surroundings. North is towards the top. This image was made by combining three different frames taken on different dates. Differences between the frames show as areas of colour. Farmland, for example, appears in various colours according to the crop being grown. Facing Venice on the west bank of the bay is the city's suburb, Mestre. At centre left is the city of Padua (white). North of Mestre is Treviso.
