Illustration for a poster advertising the play of "The Woman in White", the sensation novel by Wilkie Collins published in 1860. The stage version opened at the Olympic Theatre, London, on 9 October 1871. The illustration is by Collins' friend, the English illustrator Frederick Walker (1840-1875).
