Spring in Ngorongoro with impala and zebras, Ngorongoro Crater, Tanzania
Ngorongoro Conservation Area, Tanzania is the world's largest inactive, intact and unfilled volcanic caldera and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The floor of the crater is approx. 100 square miles and lies at 6000 ft above sea level and the crater rim is over 9000 ft. The crater hosts a large population of mostly resident and some non-resident wildlife and is the ancestral home of the semi-nomadic pastoralist Maasai people.
